We are a non-profit community arts organization dedicated to encouraging and promoting knowledge and appreciation of, and participation in, the arts.
It is the mission of the Fredonia Arts Council to encourage and promote the visual, performing, and literary arts, by providing programs and facilities that create opportunities for all ages to participate in the arts.

Stone House Gallery
The arts & cultural opportunities the Fredonia Arts Council provides have been enriching our community since 1967. Fredonia Arts Council offices are located at 320 Nth 7th in the Stone House Gallery. Built in 1872, the Stone House is the oldest remaining house in Fredonia and is a State of Kansas Historic site.
The Stone House Gallery is available for meetings and gatherings.
Programs
Sponsored by First National Bank in Fredonia and the Fredonia Arts Council
School & Community Programs
The Fredonia Arts Council along with community sponsors provides fine art programs to Fredonia and Altoona school districts and community.
Summer Arts Program
The Summer Arts Programs provides preschool to adult classes. During the summer of 2019, the program provided 30 different classes from mosaic to painting murals.
Summer Musical
The Fredonia Fine Arts Academy with sponsorship from the arts council provided an opportunity for 3rd through 12th grade students to participate in a musical including music, costumes, culinary, and set design.
Summer Mural
The Summer Arts Program provides an opportunity for students to work with a muralist to paint a community mural.

Art Exhibits
The Stone House Gallery and the Fredonia Arts Council exhibit artwork for artist for all.
Student Art
The Fredonia Arts Council and Stone House Gallery hosts Children Art Month for area K-6th graders and Wilson County Jr/Sr High Art Show each Spring.
Area Artist Show
During the Fredonia Homecoming celebration, the Fredonia Arts Council hosts an Area Artist show. The 2020 homecoming is Oct. 24th.

1st in Drawing Division - Whitney Powell's graphite drawing titled "Buoy"
1st in 3D Art - Jim Strawn's "Ribbon Sculpture"
1st in Photography - Lori McCaffee's "Kansas Wheat"
1st in 2D Art which included watercolors, oils, and acrylics was Great Speer's "Wild Things"
1st in 2D Mixed Media was Carol McGinnis Emert's interpretation of Robert Frost's poem "Stopping by Woods on a Snowy Evening".
Classes
The Fredonia Arts Council provides opportunities for adults to learn art by providing classes such as "Sip & Paint", "Create & Sip", "Stain Glass", and many more.
Adult Classes
The Fredonia Arts Council provides opportunities for adult to take art classes including stain glass, paint & sip, and fluid acrylic painting.
Classes for Senior Citizens & the Disabled
The Fredonia Community Foundation has provided the Fredonia Arts Council grants to expand classes to senior citizens and the disabled.
Community Events

and the Fredonia Arts Council
Fredonia Arts Council works with area organizations to sponsor music and performing arts for area events including Shamrock Fest, Cowboy Poetry Regional Competition, Old Iron Days, and Fredonia Homecoming.
